nonpress
an honest in-crowd
(a disproduction)
This is still not a punk rock press.
We'd love to say we care who you are. Only you can make that happen. Read our books. Write our future books. Become our friends. Do what you can. We're all just doing what we can. We love to live, and we'll go do that now.
nonpress is a collective approach to publishing. It began with one book and one person, in December 2008. During 2009, our second title came to fruition, and together we selected our third title. Consensus and collaboration are core elements of our operation. We are an honest in-crowd: to get in, you have to want in. But don't worry–we do want you.
We understand. Financial crisis. Mortgage threatening every week to send you under. No money for things like books, cigarettes, eBay, etc.
To date, nonpress has earned around $200 USD. Given that we never expected a tenth of that, we are grateful to all who've spent or sent their pennies on or to us.
If you want to buy something, try this. · Set aside between four and seven pennies per week, in a jar or can or shoebox, for as long as it takes. Add more to this jar or can or shoebox over time, if you please. Were you to manage fifteen cents a week, you'd have enough to buy any of our titles within 100 weeks.
So, as we said: read our books. Write our future books. We'll be right here where you last left us.
